Steel Furniture Bases are the New Black!

At Helander, every year we run into one item that becomes popular overnight. This year, that item has been metal furniture bases. Companies like Crate & Barrel and Room and Board have been requesting a large number of these column-like base assemblies for tables they manufacture. To create these pieces, we first metal spin the actual bases. Our customers can choose from a wide variety of metals, but most seem to go with chrome-plated steel. Next, we weld the bases to pipes, which are then polished so that the two pieces appear as one seamless unit. It is up to the company that purchases the bases to add their own table top or seating. Many of our bases are used for the tables you find in corporate conference rooms.  The hollow piping allows clients to run all their wiring through the base of the table. Not only is it more efficient, but it also looks better – no more unsightly mass of wires snaking every which way.
